Kamoe, Sef and Tieri Erasito place
high in swimming event
DOUGLAS Miller took out the opening event of the 2010 Ocean Swim season when he powered away in the end to win the Yatule Beach Resort hosted 1.2km event.
Australian based Miller won the event in a time of 17 minutes 58 seconds.
Local swimmers from the Nadi Mako Club and the Suva Tritons also took part in the event held off Natadola beach last Saturday.
Miller, home on holiday from a strict swim training regime and studies at Nudgee College in Brisbane stretched to an early lead over the first 400m leg of the course.
He was closely followed by Kamoe Erasito, with Tieri Erasito and Samantha Cooper further back.
Tieri and Samantha gradually reeled in Kamoe and passed him just before the halfway mark.
Tieri Erasito finished second overall and first female in 21 minutes 11 seconds with Samantha Cooper a close third in 21 minutes 24 seconds.
Kamoe Erasito was second male overall in 24 min 49 seconds, Sally Cooper, third female in 29 min 11 seconds and Sef Erasito third male in 29 min 42 seconds.
