LajeRotuma participated in the Melanesian
Arts Festival, setting up displays at two areas. We shared a booth
with the Rotuman women's group who displayed handicraft work, and
set up exhibits in the National Trust of Fiji's display area with
World Wildlive Federation. LRI's work in this area can be considered
under the Fiji National Heritage banner, which is mobilizing communities
to recognise the value of, and protect, resources and species that
may prove of benefit to Fiji’s national heritage.
LRI has been closely involved with partners like the National Trust
in learning more about our national heritage than mere environmental
awareness and protection in order to preserve livelihoods.
