Tai Wesley Named America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete Of The Week

Freshman forward recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds against Prairie View A&M.

Utah State men's basketball player Tai Wesley has been named the America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Dec. 16, it was announced on Monday. The award is voted on by a state media panel.

Wesley, a 6-6 forward from Provo, Utah (Provo HS) recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and a season-high 11 rebounds in Utah State's 77-51 win against Prairie View A&M Saturday night. Wesley also recorded season-highs with four assists and three steals in just 21 minutes against the Panthers.

On the season, Wesley is averaging 6.9 points and 3.3 rebounds and is shooting 58.0 percent from the field and 69.4 percent from the free throw line. After coming off the bench in Utah State's first 10 games of the season, Wesley has started the last two and is averaging 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in those games.
