Tieri is a terror in pool

TIERI Erasito continued to dominate in the swimming pool, setting a new record in the girls 14-19 years 800 metres freestyle during the National Schools Swimming competition.

The International Secondary School student set a time of 10 minutes 38.31 seconds to beat her old record of 11min 03.94secs set last year.

Erasito is part of the five-member Fiji swim team that will attend the FINA World Championships in Rome in July.

The 14-year-old joins Adele Rova, Cheyenne Rova, Paul Elaisa, cousin Ilaitia Erasito and Douglas Miller for the trip to Rome.

Tieri won the Fiji Junior Athlete Award in February. The award reflected her record breaking 2008 domestic season and her performances at the 2008 Oceania Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand and the Pacific Schools Games in Canberra, Australia. (Fiji Swimming Web site)
