Times Online (1 December 2009) Elaisa dominates swimming awards FIJI swimming representative Paul Elaisa capped off the 2009 season with the male swimmer of the year award. The Suva Tritons Club member also picked up the Butterfly, Freestyle and Distance Freestyle swimmer of the year awards. Cheyenne Rova of the Barracudas picked up the female swimmer of the year award. Fiji Swimming capped off the swimming year in style by honouring the nation's top swimmers at its annual 2009 Pacific Sun Fiji Swimming Awards Night. Two sets of awards were presented last Saturday night, which was themed as a 'Red Carpet' event and hosted by the Babale Swim Club at the Suva International School gymnasium. The first set of awards recognised the swimmers who had scored top points in the Fiji Swimming Grand Prix series whilst the main awards were awarded shortly after. In the overall awards category, the awards relied upon a criteria of
records set, first places achieved as well as points scored.
