From FijiVillage (19 January 2011) Khan wants to taste Fijian rugby at its best The Uprising International 7s is not just another rugby tournament for a former Fiji citizen who will line up for Ponsonby in the 2 day tournament. For New Zealand based Ponsonby half back, Rocky Khan whose father is from Ba and whose mum is from Rotuma, this will be the first time he is stepping foot in the country. Speaking to Fijivillage, 21 year old Khan said this is a chance for him to get back to his roots and also to get the real taste of Fijian rugby at its best. Khan added that being drawn into the same Pool with France, Army and Navy will be a tough one for the New Zealand team however if they are able to get used to the heat, they will be a force to reckon with. Khan is one of four players with links to Fiji who will feature for Ponsonby along with John Ratumaitavuki, Randell Kamea and Shaun Maurell. The Uprising Fiji International 7s kicks off on Friday at 9am with Samoa playing against Nadroga and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti-FM. Story by: Paradise Tabucala
