From Fiji Times Online (24 March 2012) Yakapo up against own men by Maciu Malo In Hong Kong
ROTUMAN native Daniel Yakapo is looking forward to his game against the Fiji 7s team tonight. Yakapo has been a vital member of the Australian 7s team in this year's International Rugby Board Sevens World Series and will be one of the few players that coach Michael O'Connor depends on to spark the young Wallabies outfit. Speaking to Times Sport, Yakapo said playing against the Fijians would be their biggest test. "Even though France and Scotland will also be very strong but I think that Fiji is the team to beat in our pool," Yakapo said. "Playing against my fellow countrymen is always tough knowing the depth of talent in the Fiji team and it will be a huge challenge for us." Yakapo said his team would not let their guards down. "Like all other participating teams, our mission is to win the title and we will give our best try to fulfil our mission," he said. "All teams are stronger these days and we need to play together as a unit and focus during the game. We are hopeful of our chances and we will be very competitive in all our games," Yakapo said his mother, who hails from Tailevu, would also be cheering for the Fiji team.
