Gau Secondary, Rotuma High win Maritime Zone

A new champion was crowned in both the boys and girls division of the Fiji Secondary Schools Maritime zone today at the National Stadium.

Gau Secondary School bagged six gold, six silver and two bronze to finish at first place in the boys division.

Rotuma High School settled in the second spot with five gold, two silver and one bronze while Koro High School finished third with three gold and one silver medal.

Yasayasa/ Moala finished fourth with three gold and one silver.

In the girls division, Rotuma High scoped six gold and one silver with Koro High finishing second with six gold followed by Gau Secondary on third with one gold and two silver.

Yasawa Secondary and Adi Moape Secondary who both were defending champions of the Maritime zone did not take part in this year’s event.

A total of 38 athletes were present for one day meet at the National Stadium with Gopel High School, Lomaivuna High and Vunisea Secondary participating as invitational teams in the competition.

No records were broken in the meet.
