Satarua confident of Rotuma Games feat

By Pravin Narain

SUVA-BASED Satarua is confident to win the Rotuma Games which will be played next week in Suva.

Satarua Club president Rupeni Fonmanu said the teams were preparing hard for the Rotuma Games.

"We are working hard to field a competitive side and we are ready for the tournament to start next week. Our team has a mixture of young and old players," he said.

"We are trying our best to keep the Rotuman Games alive and most important thing is we are trying to get the interest of the young people in the competition so they could have a little bit more of pride to be Rotuman.

"We are using sport to attract young people to join the competition. Our main focus is the young people."

Fonmanu said the club would field teams in netball, rugby and volleyball.

"We have produced some big names in the sport of rugby such as Leeroy Atalifo who played for Fiji 15s team with Ravai Fatiaki and a few others," he said.

"We are proud of our Rotuma Games. I am confident that we will win the competition this year."

The competition will be played on October 19 and 21.
