DUKE OF EDINBURGH CAMP 2/8/19

DOE_Camp

This is the last activity that was to be carried out by students who are pursuing a bronze award, They had a trial camp in week 9, but this is the main outdoor camping trip. The school was fortunate to have the Ministry of Youth and Sports that supplied the 20 2 men tents for students to use. Teachers and students departed from school at 10am on Friday to get their camp set up. Their camp program is given below:

Travel to Itumuta

Service Activity – Clean up elderly compound

Four teachers accompanied the students. Consent were received from parent. Despite the bad weather both students and teachers enjoyed this activity. The whole program carried out this term for this club was not only enjoyable as it taught the students vital life skills that they might use later.
